One of the key
differentiators of the ASR1000 is its ability to deliver sophisticated
services such as NAT, Firewall, IPSec
alongside traditional routing and transport features (L2VPN, L3VPN,
Broadband, Borderless Networks). This presentation provides details on
recent innovations in this space applicable to both Borderless networks
and SP Architectures. For example, we will share details on the ESP80
and ESP160 forwarding engines, which are elevating the service routing
scale to the next level. An overview of the service loadbalancing
function will also be given. This functionality allows the re-direction of
filtered flows (such as WAAS traffic) to external appliances (e.g. WAEs) while taking appliance load and availability
into consideration. Furthermore, we will discuss the future applicability
of the ASR 1000 and IOS XE in Cloud architectures, and provide an introduction
to IOS XE on x86 based system architectures
